Increasing Breastfeeding Success: Why it Matters and What the Research Shows is a set of ten lactation presentations designed to educate physicians and their staff in the in-patient or out-patient setting. Increasing Breastfeeding Success: Why it Matters and What the Research Shows was designed and tested with the intent that physicians with some lactation knowledge, understanding and experience would present the information to their peers. In locations where physician presenters are not available, we encourage Lactation Consultants or others with lactation expertise to present the modules. Lactation Education for Physicians is $35 (this includes shipping and handling).
Each presentation utilizes evidence-based research and is designed to be an hour long including time for discussion. Included is a PowerPoint with notes for the presenter, learning objectives, questions to stimulate discussion on how to improve practice, educational handouts, pre and post tests, an evaluation, bibliographies from peer-reviewed publications, and suggestions for planning and implementing presentations. Presentations can be incorporated into existing staff or department continuing education time, medical resident lectures, or they may be used by groups wishing to organize larger interdepartmental lectures.
Each package contains two CD's covering ten lactation topics:
| Disk I | Disk II |
|
|
The modules may be presented in any order that meets the needs for the audience. Disk I is designed to provide basic and important foundations about breastfeeding and Disk II focuses on clinical triaging of breastfeeding problems, challenges, support and troubleshooting.
Note: These CD's are designed for use on a PC and are not Mac compatible. Windows 98 or more recent version and CD-ROM drive are needed. These presentations were prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint. Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer is included if you do not have this software on your computer.
