Increasing Breastfeeding Success; Why it Matters and What the Research Shows, is a two CD set with ten lactation presentations.

The Increasing Breastfeeding Success CD set was written by leading physicians and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants from Washington State to provide tools for physicians and their staff to learn about and discuss ways of integrating evidence-based research into practice.

2010 Health Care Reform Law: Unpaid break time for nursing mothers

Employers are required to provide "reasonable break time for an employee to express breast milk for her nursing child for 1 year after the child’s birth each time such employee has need to express the milk." Employers are also required to provide "a place, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public, which may be used by an employee to express breast milk."

New breastfeeding legislation in WA!

On April 22, 2009, Governor Chris Gregoire signed into law a
breastfeeding civil rights bill. HB1596 amends the state
anti-discrimination statutes RCW 49.60.030 and 2007 c 187 s 3 to add
the following civil right: (g) the right of a mother to breastfeed her
child in any place of public resort, accommodation, assemblage, or
amusement. In simple terms, this means a public place such as a park,
fairground, etc. It does not provide any rights in relation to pumping
or nursing at work.

The presentations can be incorporated into existing staff or department continuing education time, medical resident lectures, or they may be used by groups wishing to organize larger interdepartmental lectures.
